Remember you have agreed to the Terms of Service to access this site, detailing what you can't do while using this forum . I have therefore written this to briefly point out what the purpose of this forum is and how we should conduct ourselves while using the forum. The primary purpose is for those undertaking electrical training within Australia (NZ contributors also welcome) can have somewhere to go to ask questions about their studies. The forum is open to all electrical workers/tradespeople/contractors/trainers and electrical apprentices and the posts can be about any electrical related topics, because even discussions of day to day electrical matters could be educational to others. For example a discussion about what you did on a particular job might spin off into different ways a task can be done more safely or more profitably. Off topic posts are also welcome as they might foster community and could include things like job vacancies or common interests.
Let's keep this forum a place were those seeking help are free to do so without abuse. As sparkies we want to do the right thing by our customers and the public, so let us do the same here with each other. For example, if you think someone has said something that is potentially dangerous, like an electrical safety issue, respectfully put your case forward so that others may learn from your experience. Remember, there was a time in your life when you didn't know about ohm's law.
Any abusive guests or members will be dealt with in usual way (deletion). Abuse could be harassment, swearing, defamation or personal attacks. Negative comments about race, religion, ethnicity, culture, gender, sexual orientation, physical disability etc will be treated as abuse. NO OFFENSIVE OR PORNOGRAPHIC MATERIAL TO BE POSTED NOR ANY LINKS TO THAT TYPE OF CONTENT ALLOWED (for example, no links/posts to/about: offsite web pages displaying violent behavior, racist groups, illegal activities, drugs, nudity, exam cheating websites, hacking, firearms, weapons, anti-government propaganda, car hooning, graphic electrical accidents without fair warning of such content before viewer can access said content, offensive jokes, etc).
Please keep politics out of your posts. No spam or commercial advertising allowed (The Host of this free site will not tolerate commercial advertising because they have their own advertising that in turn keeps this site free).
Don't post your personal details like your real name, address, phone number, email, where you work or do your training etc, as you may regret it later, and don't post the names of training institutions or teachers/trainers/instructors, or comments that would identify training institutions and/or the staff of training institutions. Private messages can be sent between members.
This does not mean we can't have a little fun, but this is not place to have it at the expense of others.
